I live in Ukraine – so I had to have the charger brougt over with a friend who was going to spend some time in Kiev. I received it brand new in the box never opened and it was not working. I can only use the Leapster-Max with replacable batteries. It will not even work with the cord plugged into the game from the charger. Because we have noone else to bring it back to America for us – I guess we are just stuck with it – and will “eat” that nearly [...]. I am usually happy with Leapster products and with Amazon – but this time I am disappointed and feel stuck!

I purchased this for my 5 yr old grandson. He loves it and hardly ever puts it down. He goes to preschool but is learning so much from this. He loves it when his mother hooks it up to the TV but also enjoys playing with it in the car. Definitely worth the money.

I am 6 years old. The charger keeps my Leapster charged up. So far my mom has charged it up 3 times. She says she will teach me how to use the charger myself when she is not busy nursing my baby sister.

Based on Amazon reviews, I went ahead and bought the Leapster Recharging System for my two kids’ Leapsters. I called Leapfrog Customer Service to ask about purchasing an extra battery recharging pack (so we’d have one for each Leapster.) They told me they DO NOT sell extra packs (even though they say they are available for purchase in the guidebook.) When I tried to dispute this, I was told the best they could do was sell me another whole recharging system for $24.99. This is also surprising, as on their website the price listed for another recharging system is listed as $34.99! Regardless, the system itself is very handy and will no doubt save money on batteries. Keep in mind that the instructions state that, “after approximately 300 charges, you may notice a decrease in the power supplied by the battery pack.”
