After purchasing this online, I realized that all musical toys should be heard first and never bought untested; the songs drove my husband and I nuts. We couldn’t stand listening to the woman singing and finally we just hid it; I’m planning to take it to a neighborhood toy swap and be rid of it altogether. We also thought that the animal sounds were not convincing or recognizable. Of course, to each their own- we loved the Munchkin Mozart cube. I see lots of people like this toy, so it comes down to a personal (musical) preference.

My husband and I bought this for our son when he was 6 months old. The first night he was very excited about spinning the thing around, but after a while he figured out that was all it did. He doesn’t care what song or noise is played. Overall, I was just sorry we bought it because he only plays with it for a couple of minutes at a time, and then is over it.

I bought this toy for my niece, she is 9 months, she just loves to spin the ball. It a good learning toy that she can grow into.

My daughter loved this this toy the first two weeks, and now doesn’t seem that impressed with it. It’s a great toy for the money, and plays interesting songs, but the interactive play is somewhat limited (hey, it’s a ball on a platform). The animals they chose for each letter are a little odd (x-ray fish for X, umbrella bird for U etc), but my daughter is still entertained by their noises. I like the volume control and the different modes of play.
