My son saw this at school and he thought it would help him study. He got it, was very excited for the first few days and then got bored with it, like every other toy he’s ever gotten!

Getting the crammer to connect and work with the Leap Frog software was extremely difficult. Although I finally got it to work, the overall experience was definitely not fun. The text size was quite small, leaving most of the screen blank.

I’d suggest that you save the money that you would spend on this item for an iPod touch. The iPod Touch can run most of the applications that also run on an iPhone but you don’t have to pay a monthly fee. Or if you are willing to pay a monthly fee for a cell phone, make your next cell phone a “smart phone” like an Android phone or an iPhone that have tons of applications including study tools.

Server says can’t connect due to heavy holiday traffic. WOW…what a screw up. How could they not have the bandwidth at Christmas time? They had to know the traffic would be heavy. If it doesn’t work in the next few hours, we will return it.

    This little gadget does alot!!

My daughter is 7 and she loves it, she can listen to music while playing or testing her own skills in different subjects.

You can add and delete your own music.

And the best of all you download harder quizzes, flashcards as your child gets older. Also can help your child translate words in spanish.

    Leapfrog is the BEST!!

    Could never go wrong.

Will recommend it to all parents. A+++

I have liked earlier LeapFrog products for my 8 year old son, and I heard a lot of promising press about this product. But don’t buy it! Yes like others have said, the display is too small, not backlit, and may I add…. Boring. It reminds me of a MacPlus I used 18 years ago. I think technology has advanced since then. Still I need to relay the worst part and that is the interface through the website. First it would not connect, and I found out why when I went to the FAQs there is a fix, (after downloading for a half hour) didn’t work, but wait there is an alternate fix, hopefully for Vista but not labeled as such (another long download) and this one did work. I can now connect to the website and like everyone says in other reviews, everything takes too long to download and as for the MP3 instal yes that takes forever too. And when I sent a note to customer support, well the response was more complex then I have time for. All in all, I wasted $50(it can now be bought for half that), plus most of my Saturday, for a device I will soon quit updating, for an educational toy that my son will be too bored with to use. PS, this will not be on the shelves long enough to be supported a year from now. Did I mention don’t buy it.
